Alinka makes her HE.SHE.THEY. debut as she combines with the iconic Robert Owens for her ‘Midnight Ride’ EP, backed by a remix from Joyce Muniz.
An artist embedded within Berlin’s rich electronic music landscape, Twirl co-founder and Panorama Bar regular Alinka continues to impress and grow into her own as a producer, unveiling release after release of quality house music via labels such as Rekids, Pets Recordings, Permanent Vacation, Crosstown Rebels and Me Me Me. Already set to join the collective for their 4th Anniversary celebrations at fabric, London, mid-April welcomes the Chicago native’s first material on HE.SHE.THEY. as she partners with house legend Robert Owens on ‘Midnight Ride’, with Brazilian-born, Vienna-based DJ and producer Joyce Muniz also making her label debut on remix duties.
“Growing up in Chicago made me a fan of Robert Owens from the time I first discovered house music. When we finally met in Berlin years later, I knew I wanted to work with Robert as he’s such an incredible person, and I’m so happy to finally collaborate with him on this record. I wanted to stay true to the sound that I grew up on which inspired me, so this record is an ode to dancing in Chicago.” - Alinka
An instantly infectious production fusing classic Chicago nuances with warm basslines, sweeping synths and Robert Owens’ iconic vocals, ‘Midnight Ride’ showcases a vibrant and dynamic masterclass in house music, while ‘And The Beat Goes On’ delves into a heady, percussion-driven late-night journey through snaking melodies and spiralling electronics. Joining the package, Joyce Muniz’s remix of ‘Midnight Ride’ fuses warped low-ends with brooding leads and escalating synth patterns to veer down an electro-licked darker path.
Alinka ‘Midnight Ride’ EP drops via HE.SHE.THEY. on 15th April 2022, with Joyce Muniz’s remixes set to follow on 29th April 2022.
