SIRENS OF LESBOS - CALL ME BACK FEAT. SADBOI & ORIENTAL CHOIR

Since their last album, Sirens Of Lesbos have firmly positioned themselves as promising newcomers, gracing legendary venues such as London’s Jazz Café, Amsterdam’s Paradiso, and the Fusion Festival near Berlin. Don Letts described them as "a firm favorite."

Their new single hints at even grander ambitions. With guest appearances from the Drake co-signed rapper SadBoi and Nigeria's social media phenomenon Kabusa Oriental Choir, ‘Call Me Back’ stands as a bold statement of pop songwriting and innovative production.

“The song is really about longing for a second chance and, at the same time, about forgiveness. It all started with a beat, which included telephone sound elements, and that sparked the inspiration for the lyrics in the hook,” Jasmina explains.

With its Afrobeats-inspired instrumental, ‘Call Me Back’ is a tribute to the Global South, a region Jasmina and Nabyla feel deeply connected to—their parents are of Eritrean and Sudanese origin—, but which has not yet played a significant role in their music.

"We were listening to SadBoi’s 'Potential' and Kabusa Oriental Choir’s 'So So' a lot while writing the song, and we really wanted to collaborate with both of them. We contacted them through Instagram, and they both said yes immediately," Nabyla recalls.

The collaboration with SadBoi and Kabusa Oriental Choir continues a signature tradition for Sirens Of Lesbos, who have previously teamed up with notable artists like JID, Bootsy Collins, and Erick The Architect.

‘Call Me Back’ is the first single Sirens Of Lesbos opted not to mix themselves, instead turning to LA-based multi-platinum mix engineer David Nakaji, who caught their attention through his work with Kaytraminé (Kaytranada and Aminé) and Kehlani.
