SIRENS OF LESBOS RELEASE EASY, A HIGHLY POETIC BALLAD WITH AN EXHILARATING TOUCH OF AMERICANA
‘Easy’ is the second single from ‘Peace’, the sophomore album from five-piece Sirens of Lesbos. With the group made up of producers Melvyn Buss and Arci Friede, co-producers and vocalist sisters Jasmina and Nabyla Serag, and Denise Häberli, the group’s art director, ‘Easy’ was born from a united love of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours’.
Written and recorded in just two days, you can hear touches of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ in the track’s warm, yacht rock smoothness and immediacy. But there’s also a country lilt in its bending guitar strings, adding another dimension to the band’s worldbeat sound.
“For months we tried to make it less country and more urban,” says Arci at their own surprise at how it came out. “But in the end we just thought, ‘Fuck it, it's a great song.’” Or as the Serag’s sing, encapsulating the go-with-the-flow sentiment of the track, “Let’s make this easy.”
‘Peace’ features a wide-range of collaborators, including platinum selling hip-hop producer Christo (J. Cole, JID, Earthgang), Grammy Award-winning P-Funk founder Bootsy Collins, Erick The Architect, MC and producer with Brooklyn’s cult hip-hop crew Flatbush Zombies, Washington DC vocalist and songwriter dreamcastmoe, and British-Nigerian poet-cum-singer Joshua Idehen.
With a wide range of radio support from Worldwide FM, Beats 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, KCRW and more, the band’s music has so far received dozens of millions streams.
